We thought that this information might be of interest to computer users.
It is not our intention to offend anybody.
Do you ever get tired of beeing tethered to your computer to
read e-text books, and don't you ever get tired of taking a
bunch of cassettes with you when ever you want some reading
material, not to mention that tape player?
Do we ever have a solution for you.
Disability Specialtys proudly presents the Road Runner.
Road Runner is a tiny electronic text reading device that lets
you read text whereever you are. Though slightly smaller than a
standard audio cassette, it can store almost 3 megs of ram,
enough for about eight average books. You can easily
fit it in to a shirt pocket, clip it to your belt or just set it
down.
All you do is transfer books from your computer in to the Road
Runner and it will read them back to you in a clear synthetic
voice.
There is a full range of voices, speech rates, movement units
and even a sleep timer.
Packaged with the Roadrunner is:
One set of Double A Alkaline batteries, already installed, that
can power the unit for 40 hours or more of continuous reading,
a set of folding stereo walkman type headphones, (no speaker)
software to transfer text files from your computer to Road
Runner,
And a special serial cable to transfer books from your nine pin
serial port.
Road Runner costs $349.00 plus shipping.
When you buy Road Runner from Disability Specialtys, We will give
you either braille or tape quick start instructions, as well as
a thorough description of the unit.
Of course the complete manual is on disk.
You can order now for Christmas delivery.
