Hi all,
Since some weeks there is a new operating system on the market for Pentium
and PowerPC processors called BeOS.
This new operating system is build from the ground gased on the state of the
technology at this moment. This is the reason that the performance of this
new operating system is much more better than that of Windows.
You never can say what is happening in the future, but what is the situation
in let say the year 2010? Maybe in this year BeOS is the most popular
operating system and Microsoft's Windows is losing the market.
It is a fact that Windows in the core is never designed to make it
accessible for visual impaired people. For a lot of us it is a dream that a
new operating system comes on the market that is developed in the core to be
accessible for everybody. But is BeOS developed to be accessible?
I'm afraid the anwer is no!!!
I searched on the site of BE - the makers of BeOS - to find information
about accessibility, but find nothing. I send them some messages to ask them
what they did to make their new operating system accessible for visual
impaired people using accessibility feature. The answer was, no answer!!!
If BeOS becomes a success in the future, it will be a nightmare to most of us!!!
You can find more information about BeOS at:
