Several Scandinavian studies involing boiled coffee have consistently
shown a link between unfiltered boiled coffee consumption and evelated
serum lipip (fat) levels. Follow-up research demonstrated that boiled
coffee does contain lipid materials that raise cholesterol levels.
However, these studies are not relevant to U.S. coffee drinkers.
So here we have two Scandanavian guys, one Icelandic-American and the
other a Swede sitting around drinking coffee. Could the cafetol and
kahweal have elavated their cholesterol because their brewing method
didn't filter it out as percolating or the use of paper filters would
have?
Perhaps someone could find out about these oils from medline.
