Hello.

This is my first posting to the list. I'm responding to Brooke McLoughlin's
posting that refers to "The Yeast Connection" and "The Yeast Connection
Cookbook" (both authored by Dr. Crook).

Although some info in these books is useful, I'd like to offer my
experience with them.

Eight years ago, I was seeing an M.D. whose practice was 'holistic.' I also
worked with the registered dietician at the practice. "The Yeast Connect"
was their bible. I asked repeatedly about any tests that specifically
detect wheat or gluten intolerance. They said there was no such thing. (!)
So I followed the diet, added things (like vinegar) back in as instructed
by the book and the dietician. I also went to another M.D. who gave me the
same song and dance - with the "Yeast Connection" perched on his desk. So
I've been following a low-gluten diet for 8 years and wondering why I'm not
well. Since being completely GF (for about 2 months) I've seen real
improvement.

I hope this helps others.

Anne
