WISHES TO ANNOUNCE PUBLIC MEETINGS ON ITS STATE AND STRATEGIC PLANS FOR
                     FISCAL YEARS 1999-2000

You are invited to share your comments and suggestions with us as
we prepare the Plans for the following programs:

         Vocational Rehabilitation Services (Title I)

         Supported Employment Services (Title VI, Part C)

Although we seek your input on any aspect of these Plans, we are
particularly interested in receiving your thoughts on the
following topics:

(1) views on the agency's policies related to
the administration of these Plans; (

2)  plans, policies and procedures regarding the transition to Vocational Rehabilitation services of students with disabilities;

(3) procedures and activities regarding the establishment and maintenance of a comprehensive system of personnel development;

4) methods to expand and improve services to individuals with the most severe disabilities; (

5) due process procedures;

(6) rehabilitation technology services;

(7) personal assistance services; (

8) polici s and procedures relating to consumer choice; (

9) utilization of community rehabilitation programs;

(10) quality, scope and extent of Supported Employment services; and (

11) outreach procedures and practices for identifying and serving
individuals with the most severe disabilities who are minorities.

A summary of written comments received from the public and the
Bureau's response to them will be incorporated into the completed
Plans sent to the U.S. Department of Education, Rehabilitation
Services Administration.

Please join us at the regional meeting nearest you!  If you
require any special accommodations, please contact the Manager of
the appropriate BVS District Office serving the county in which
you live.  Persons unable to attend these meetings may submit
written comments to the appropriate Manager no later than
5:00 P.M., April 3, 1998.  See the following pages for the times
and locations of these public meetings.
