Hi Albert,
I am in the tutorial writing bisiness and review all the competition before
I begin to write a tutorial on a particular topic. So, let me offer my
opinion on your question.
The HJ and CrissCoss tutorials are "interactive" tutorials; you listen and
mimmick the steps the trainer goes through. These kinds of tutorials are
fun to use but have 1 drawback -- they are short on details. Descriptive
tutorials, on the other hand are in textbook format, filled with lots of
information and keystrokes, and are more boring to use.
Of the 2, CrissCorss tutorials are, in my opinion the better with respect
to content. I have the HJ Word tutorial and I can sell it to you for
$25.00 which is how much I think it is worth. Dean Martineau's Top Word 97
tutorial is $20.00 and covers about the same materials as the other 2
tutorials, but is less professionally produced.
If you really want to learn Word well, consider my key guide in brialle or
on tape for $25.00 which gives all the key commands in Word 97 and Word
2000 with brief but complete descriptions. If you know absolutely nothing
about, polease consider my Verbal View of Word in braille $80.00 and on
tape $75.00. Virtually every key is discussed. Also, the Iowa department
for the blind has descriptive tutorials available on lots of topics, and
they are fairly complete -- although rather boring to read.
