I havea better way of getting caller ID.
it works anywhere you can receive caller ID.
If you have a newer modem and a notetaker such one from Blazie
Engineering or any notetaker with a serial port you can command your
modem to send caller ID information wenever the phone rings.
The command is different for each modem however the standard command is
AT#CID=1
this instructs your modem to return "formatted" information.
Note: that you must have caller ID service on your line for this to work
just as if you hada normal caller ID box.
I use my Braille Lite 18 to read my caller ID data. The beauty is that
normal caller JD boxes can only hold a maxium of 50 calls. If you have a
notetaker you can hold as many calls as memory permits.
Just thought I'd put my two cents in.
Thanks.
