At around 8 or 9 pm, my son has the most energy and is the most normal. For
the rest of the day, he is very lethargic, and irritable.
At 8 or so he will like to play with siblilngs, loses some of the
irritabilitly.
I have him on mostly fat/meat and vits/mins and his academics are better. I
had been using Nystatin which made him an absolute bear.
I am using a little MCT oil which is an antifungal according to Dr Shaw on
the Autism list who says it breaks down to caprylic acid.
I would like to heal the intestines naturally a la paleo but kind of panic
at his lethargy, lack of energy, poor muscle tone, etc. all of which they
say can be caused by yeast. He has lost interest in things he used to like
to do, like go to the park, etc. Wants to only lay around.
I can't tell if this is a result of a yeast infection, or as a result of the
treatment for a yeast infection, or what.
If I feed any carbos, even lettuce, it makes him worse and spacy.
I had a urine test for yeast metabolites back in March which showed a yeast
overgrowth but not a huge overgrowth. It also showed a bacterial overgrowth.
So-called "good" bacteria make his symptoms worse as they are cultured in
food which feeds the bad population of microbes. I have found he does better
with no "good' bacteria supplements.
Would of course appreciate anyone's input/ideas.
Mary
Almost everything I have read says no way can you cure a yeast infection
with diet alone.
