Because when illustrations of the basic food groups are shown, eggs are
usually shown in the 'dairy' section with milk and cheese, rather than
the 'meats' section where they really belong (being protein)...
I think it's also a matter of people just thinking ANYTHING from a farm
is automatically 'dairy'... :-)
