Well, as usual, there are no absolutes. It is most usually more valuable
to tell the truth, but perhaps not always. I'm not often given to tall
tales except in the proper setting. This was one such setting, I guess.
Greg and Madonna's house is excessively eclectic, fun as all get out, and
so are they. I was in the Art Deco living room, but you should have seen
the Elvis '50s bedroom upstairs. I especially liked the silver aluminum
christmas tree illuminated by the color wheel. That's what Greg's
antique-shop-on-the-side specializes in, 50s high-style design. There is a
remarkable design flair to that era; perhaps one of the more intense
periods in which there was a holistic design aesthetic pervading many areas
of design: architecture, furniture, furnishings, appliances, autos, etc.,
etc. A couple of others come to mind...Art Deco, Arts & Crafts.

Anyway, we were all having fun in a really fun place, with a prize for the
tallest tale to be awarded at the end of the weekend, and our guests were
having fun too, and most of them realized what was going on, but some of
them, well...too much TV, I think.

Either that, or it was the rum in the cider. Hard to say.
