Is there anything in the preservationist world equivalent to the Natural
Resources Defense Council, who will undertake to give support ranging from
research to legal and financial aid to groups fighting battles of all
sizes?

If not, is there a deep pockets foundation with a keen enough interest in
preservation to provide seed money to set up a corps of shock troops who
could offer us amateurs the kind of aid mentioned above?
