Recently recommended on the list was Carl Hiasson's "Team Rodent: How
Disney Devours the World"...Being quite a fan of his fiction, I rushed out
to the community bookstore and had it in my hot little hands 2 days later
(patience is a virtue when supporting small stores) (I am not normally
virtuous). I would simply like to re-iterate the recommendation - highly
worth the hour it took to read it!! The short, succinct chapters touch on
everything Disney from Times Square to the dead rhino to the shoddy
construction of their overpriced homes in "Imagineered" planned
communities. We even get a glimpse into some of Disney's "adult"
enterprises, such as the highly un-pc rap band Insane Clown Posse - in a
recent post to the list Ken mentioned that his son was listening to
them...Hiasson is known not only for his wonderful fiction (if you have the
time for a novel, read "Native Tongue", which also deals with Disney), but
for his investigative reporting as well. He is right on with this little
book! And no, I'm not affiliated, just a fan - and glad to see some writing
on this which is not so dry you that you are forced to pour beer on it...

Molly Van Meter, definitely not a mouseketeer..
