Dear List-mates,
I kinds stumbled across a remarkable listing almost comparable to the
Physician's Desk Reference. I subscribe to Jake Levich's Mining Company
newsletter and they had a link to a site which offered a wide array of med.
info, including ingredients, and mfg. phone # and web-sites. It is:
http://familymedicine.miningco.com/library/weekly/aa013099.htm
I am working on a magnesium and MediPort (actually LifePort) summary for
those who requested it. I am still doing some research on the mg. part. I
have had the port implanted and it seems to function much better than the
process of finding my veins for infusion or blood work. It does have some
down sides. I am rather thin, so I have more than just a "bump" protruding
from the skin. The area is still a bit tender and I am told will continue to
be for 1-6 months. I know that the amound of magnesium that is being pumped
in (3 gm. every 3 days) would have permanently scarred the rest of my
available veins by now, so I really shouldn't complain, but if anyone is
thinking about this, it is only fair to know ahead of time. I also found out
that my insurance company would not cover any infusions at home, but would
cover them in the hospital. ?????????
I would like to thank all of the list members who wrote a while back when I
was searching for a way to help Beth, a support group member who had
complained of dizziness and tingling. She was diagnosed with a pituitary
tumor and passed away last Friday. I know she was touched by the number of
people who responded. She was 78 and had been diagnosed as a celiac one year
ago. We will miss her bright spirit.
