Hello,

Well, I'm new, but not really new. I was on this list about 9 months
ago, but left when my computer died. I've been lurking for the past
two weeks or so. I'm interested in a paleodiet, but haven't yet taken
the plunge yet. I think I'm getting closer now. I have read
Neanderthin and am getting ready to read Paleolithic Prescription.

I have one thing that concerns me: the quality of the meat in the
supermarkets. I do have access to organic beef here, but it is so very
expensive and cost prohibitive for our budget. I have been a
vegetarian for years, and all that talk of the antibiotics and mad cow
disease and whatnot is really stuck in my head. How do you folks get
around this? Is my health really better off by eating a paleodiet even
if the meat I'm consuming is the poor quality, antibiotic laden beef
in the supermarkets? This worries me a lot. I remember reading an
article not too long ago, that virtually blamed breast cancer on
eating commercially grown beef! Yikes!

Anyway, glad to be back aboard here....
Cindy
