I agree, Hans, and also we should be taught how to render buffalo fat so it
is palatable! How has this knowledge gotten lost? Also, my dad knows how to
preserve/store all kinds of veggies and meats, grew up almost totally
dependent on his farm, and none of this knowledge was passed down. I try to
ask, he is now 85, and can't understand why I would want to know these things...
I also had a teacher's aide once who worked for me, who grew up 100%
dependent on her farm, and again, no passing on of knowledge, I tried to
ask, but she thought I was crazy...Finally, another friend who grew up on a
farm, is just grateful to be off of it. His family, too, was almost
completely dependent on their own efforts.
