Thanks for the reminder.  Actually, I have read the updates, but had
forgotten that the estimate for the spread of lactose tolerance has been
changed from 1,150 to 5000 years.  And, yes, such adaptations are probably
incomplete.  My main point, however, is that significant dietary adaptations
can occur within a period of several thousand years, rather than hundreds of
thousands of years.
