Jacki,

I appreciate the thought. But there's no question about it. I'm still 19
lbs heavier than my maximum allowed weight when I was in the Air Force, and
I know that I look best at about 165-170. It's rather a fuzzy memory,
though, haven't seen it since I got out of AF basic training in '89. It's
entirely possible that I'll be satisfied at 175, but 205 at 5'8" is
definitely fat.

I'm not being "thin conscious". I deplore the media and the standards
they've set. I can't stand skinny fashion models. But while there's a
belly hanging out over my belt, I'm not going to be happy.

Take care,
John Pavao

John,
I tend to think that everyone's ideal weight is as individual as every
one! My mother was "overweight" since she was about 2 also. She is
considered obese, but she's 80 years old now, has led an active life and
is still going strong. Maybe your weight (and my mother's) is close to
ideal for you. We live in such a thin-conscious society, that I don't
think all things are taken into consideration. If you have been
relatively healthy, maybe there's nothing wrong with your weight...
