I've made the same observation. My favorite fruit is grapefruits though.
But since I am renewing my weight loss efforts, fruit is out for now.

P.S. the carbohydrate problem - for me - seems to be
mostly with refined sugar, flours , grains and artificial sweeteners..
I have been very happy eating oranges for dessert and fruit salad with
my dinner.
