Some shops in here in Sweden have recently introduced "organic"
or "environmental" norwegian farmed salmon. Both the farmers name
and the inheritance of the salmon is known, and it is free of
antibiotics and lives in larger cases. It tastes really good (raw).
On request I got a listing of what foods it eats:
Fish, soy meal, fish oil, corn, potato, wheat, shrimp meal,
vitamins, minerals, astaxantin/algae.
Do wild salmon eat soy, corn, potato and wheat? Probably not.
What is in a salmon that is fed these things? I my organism
prepared to metabolize such a salmon? Who can tell me?
I will eat it anyway as it is close to impossible to get wild
salmon here, and if so it has an astronomic price, and also, if
it is from the baltic sea, wich is the closest resource, it
contains lots of PCB.
Would it be impossible to feed farmen salmon with real salmon food?
(wich you in turn probably have to farm, and feed what?)
