Um, milk alone would have been a problem in the heat, but there was the
Manna from heaven anyway, so no milk would have been needed. Presumably
Manna-allergies were non-existent.
Although the manna did spoil overnight, except on the Sabbath.
The rules about separating Milk and Meat appear to have no root in the
physical world, but appear to relate to issues of sensitivity, ethics, and
other spiritual things. The exact
commandment (mentioned 3 times!) is "You shall not cook a kid in the milk
of its mother".
