>From experience I find that my lactose intollerance is better when I am
on a high fibre diet. Without the high fibre diet even fatty foods
bother me. Avoidance of lactose and also keeping to fibre foods help to
combat against the odd occassions where you can't avoid the lactose.
I have to have a complete avoidance of dairy from my daughters diet and
that means even the smallest trace. It sounds difficult and it was at
first but once you get used to it, it is easier than you think.

When looking at calcium supplements be sure to check that they are not
derived from milk protein if you are anaphylactic! Calcium sandoz is
derived from milk protein so the people who are very sensitive to this
could have problems!

Items that I have found to contain lactose:(in Canada) gravol, birth
control pills, some childrens vitamens and also the occasional real
fruit jube jubes!

I used to buy Bugles(plain variety) for my daughter and they now list
milk ingredients on their box!!
