It has been discussed on the PaleoDiet list that meat consumption
corresponds directly with how far from the equator the people are. Close to
the equator and vegetable matter is easier to gather. Further, with the
Inuit at the extreme, and meat is easier. Now if you're black I would very
much follow what the Africans do, but my ancestors are from Northern
Europe, and a gathering life style would have been rather difficult during
most of the year.
