Earlier this year I asked if list members could advise on GF status of
smoked meat and fish, eg smoked ham and smoked salmon. Here is a summary of
the replies:

"The smoking per se should not be a problem. This is to say if it has
actually been smoked rather than given some sort of smoked flavour when the
GF status will of course depend on the contents of the "liquid smoke"."

"I think that they can be GF. But many have coatings that include, or
are injected with fluids or flavors that include, gluten."

Pre-packed smoked items were generally considered OK if, and only if, there
were no other additives or flavourings.

I guess we still should check with the manufacture/supplier just to make sure.

Apologies for this late summary, pressure of work before we went on holiday
is the main cause for the delay.
