Hello Ron,
I have two friends with children highly allergenic to any animal
protein, especially to any traces of milk proteins.
One of the childs gets really sick if eating the smallest traces of animal protein,
the other one is experiencing a strange kind of hard skin at her hands then.
From them I learnt that milk can be substituted in many kitchen uses
by "almond milk".
Almond milk can be made by simply mixing almonds(skinless) and water in
a blender.
Maybe that's a more natural substitute than soy "milk".
Still I don't know if this is applicable to small babies.
Best whishes to your grandson
Amadeus
