Jill -
Yes, it does get easier, in at least two ways. Your child will learn not to
take food from anybody but a trusted adult - parents, teachers, etc. Alyssa
won't take any food offered by another kid without looking for me or her teacher.
Also, the friends and relatives will likely give up trying to offer things, both
because of your reaction and warnings, and because your daughter won't take it.
I'm still ever watchful, but not nearly as paranoid as when Alyssa was 16 months -
she's 3 now.
