It seems to me from my Canadian history classes that pemmican was known as
'Indian candy' altho' I could be making this up.

(I kinda' rained on my own parade re: brains purchase by reading "Mad Cow
Disease, Industrial Farming Comes Home to Roost", in Covert Action
Quarterly, Fall 1997. The magazine cover has a photo of a cow brain.) yikes!
