It can certainly be very small -- my mother received just a tiny piece
when she was sick in the hospital. This was necessary since she was very
nauseated from the cancer and would have risked vomiting from anything
larger than a tiny bit. Even a little crumb of bread will do, judging
from dimly recalled stories of priests celebrating Mass in perilous
circumstances.
Hmmm... Extending this idea of miniaturizing, how about diluting a tiny
bit of wheat in a GF wafer? That would allow even less gluten than just a
crumb of low-gluten wheat wafer. Where there's a will, there's a way...
This won't help the extremely sensitive, but it would help many others.
Peace, Cathy Flick
