Kari Lillehaug asked about problems with avocado.

In October 1997 after I had been gf for six months, I started to get
severe upper abdominal pain - bought on after eating certain foods and
avocado is one of them. I would have pain like someone had kicked
me in the stomach and it lasted anywhere between 3 and 6 hours - I
would have to lie down, felt nauseous, feverish and generally weakened.
I got so sick (and tired) I lost about 1/2 stone (7 lbs or 3 kilos).
I still haven't regained all the weight and I am now only 40 kilos.

I have so far eliminated bananas, avocados, eggs (particularly in
omelettes), and other fatty foods - butter, cream.

The drs originally thought I had gallbladder disease and in six months I
have had 8 tests including a follow up biopsy which showed my gut wall
was "normal" - the doctors are amazed but I insisted that there was
absolutely no hidden gluten in my diet - and was proven right.

I still do not have a diagnosis after trying two specialists. I am
extra extra careful with my diet (if that's possible for someone with
cd)and instead of having 3 bouts a week have not had one for 3 weeks
but live with the background pain.

If someone can help with a connection with cd it would really help my
state of mind as all this has left me very depressed and emotional.
