SECOND CALL: The OurTeam project and Voices activity - can you help?
One month research project needs YOU!
The OurTeam Project is about helping people with a visual impairment
experience computer supported team working, which is very big in the
world of business and education.
OurTeam participants work on the Voices activity. The Voices
activity involves gathering the concerns of people with a visual
impairment at an international level into one accessible source,
which can then be made available using the Internet. For instance,
there has been a lot of discussion on one listerver on audible
pedestrian signals and the shape of money - all excellent material to
go into Voices. But how it gets in and in what form is the focus of
the OurTeam Project- the team working skills of participants.
The OurTeam project is therefore
* an experience for participants in understanding computer supported
team work (good business experience!)
* creating an important resource (the Voices document) and will
provide research material on team working that can then be used to
make more effective provision for educational establishments and
businesses seeking to implement computer supported team working for
people with a visual impairment.
The OurTeam project will be starting in the next couple of weeks and
going through a series of short and simple modules will introduce you
to effective team working supported by e-mail - that is right, no
special software is needed for this project. You should be able to log
on regularly (say three times a week- no weekends). The project will
only last a month.
Please e-mail me if you would be interested in helping out. Thank
you, Greg Hale
