We're considering getting a Bar Code reader for our Assistive Technology
lending library ( http://www.temple.edu/atlend )
This would be a device that someone who is blind could use to read the bar
codes on grocery items to find out what the item was. As far as I know,
however, it wouldn't show the price, since that would require a connection
to the stores database and I don't know of any standards.
It could also be used to label objects at work or home.
Do folks think this would be useful to get?
Does anyone have experience or recommendations for particular units?
