        I hate to quote the annoying kid from the grape juice commercials,
but "when your tongue keeps tasting the same thing the same thing the same
thing your tongue can get bored."  Power Law thrives on randomness and
novelty within a framework of structure, or something like that.  See

fitness.
        Eating a strictly controlled ratio (ZONING OUT), is antithetical
to power law from what I can make of it.

        Drug tolorance, job burnout, arobic exercize (yes, arobics will
make you burn fat very quickly, and then as you go on it will alter your
metabolism to burn fat "effiecently" e.i. hardly at all), are all examples
of how a not being random enough can mess you up.
        This is not to advocate pure uncontrolled chaos.  It would be
-very- random of me to eat dolemite, but that's not very good.


        When our ancestors could not get the food they wanted, they ate
what was on hand while looking for what they wanted.  It's not very hard
to get what you want in a hunter-gatherer system unless you overhunt and
exterminate stuff (e.g. Indians).

        What you (believe) you know might be wrong.  I take a more
instinctive approach.  I could not have stuck to neanderthin if I was made
to eat anything.  The idea of "skipping" is what makes NeandertThin so
novel.  With NeanderThin you can skip entire days if you're just not
hungry.  You can skip any item you don't want to eat.  You can skip whole
catagories of food - for example, nuts.  (It's harder to skip meat, but it
can be done in the short term).  You can eat 65,000 calories or you can
eat 650, depending on how your stomach reacts that day.  (I like to start
breakfast with 1050 calories to jump start metabolism - yes, I lost 70
pounds this way)!
        I just don't trust the idea of "three square meals a day, no mater
which polygon is used in place of square."
