Hi everyone:
A while back I received some recipes from my local celiac chapter
newsletter. One of the ingredients was VH(the brand) soy sauce.
(Maybe only available in Canada?) When I checked the ingredients at
the store, one of them is hydrolyzed soy protein?????? I know that
we can't have hydrolyzed plant or vegetable proteins, is soy protein
not in these categories??
Also, there was a lady that posted to the list a few days ago,
regarding her sister, who she said developed hodgkins disease because
she did not follow a gluten free diet???? Let's not forget that
there are many non-celiacs who develop hodgkins disease, and many
other horrible diseases. I was 38 before I was diagnosed, so I
obviously did not follow a gluten free diet, I don't think my
chances of developing hodgkins disease is any greater than anyone
else, but then I don't think anyone really knows what our risk for
any of these things are. It's a tragedy when anyone is diagnosed
with a life threatening illness.
Merry Christmas
