I recently wrote to Ethnic Gourmet Foods, Inc. who make the Taj Gourmet
line of Frozen Indian Dinners. I asked about the presence of wheat, rye,
oats, and barley or their derivatives in their products. I made a special
point of asking about the anti-caking agents or fillers in their "spices",
since that is the only element on their ingredient lists that doesn't
clearly indicate the food source.
They replied that the anti-caking agents in the spices do not come from
the problematic grains. They also sent me a "List of Products That Do Not
Contain Gluten." I didn't actually use the term "gluten" in my letter,
since I always list the grains individually to avoid confusion. Here is a
copy of the list they sent me:
