I wonder if perhaps there is a disparity between what some women answer on
surveys and how they react in practice? (Not that I'm saying that men are
any different...) My personal experience doesn't seem to bear this out.
I've always had an easy time getting dates when I lost weight, but it was
very difficult or impossible when I was overweight (and I've never weighed
more that 245 at 5'8").

"physical attractiveness" is farther down the list for women. The real
question is: is there someone you are attracted (ie who is kind enough and
intelligent enough) to enough to motivate you to extend yourself to
her--even at the risk of being rejected? When there is, you will.
