Personally, I doubt that all that much fiber is required. A big
difference between me and your average hunter/gatherer is that I
have been fat for decades. I am not so fat anymore, but it seems
that my body has yet to recover from the abuse. I need the extra
fiber to attempt to restore it to balance, I believe. If and
when I achieve that, I suspect that I will not need heroic
amounts of dietary fiber. What an optimal amount of fiber under
those conditions would be remains to be seen.
Note: I don't think I'm going to be able to last very long on
this modified Type A/NeanderThin regimen. I am already having
sharp cravings for red meat, and I haven't experienced *any* real
cravings of any sort since starting low-carb dieting.
