WHAT?????????? Where did *this* come from? I want
to see the studies. I want to see the *PROOF* of this
amazing statement. Broccoli is the only vegetable
that I really, REALLY like! I like it so much that for
a solid week the ONLY think I ate was medium-rare
steak topped with broccoli and mushrooms sauteed
in olive oil. I'd still be eating it except I ran out of fresh
mushrooms and I was beginning to worry that I might
be taking in too much olive oil.

KeeRist! Everything I like is supposed to be bad for
me. I've given up SO many foods since I decided to
go on a damned diet in February.

Round One (starting Atkins):
I gave up Bread. I gave up Pasta. I gave up Sugar.
I gave up Corn. I gave up French Fries. I gave up
Milk. I gave up a million and one other things.

No problem. I know they're bad for me.

Round Two (starting Neanderthin):
I gave up Kool-Aid. I gave up Mayonnaise. I gave up
Mustard. I gave up Cream/Butter/Cream Cheese/Cottage
Cheese/Bleu Cheese/All Dairy. I gave up Chocolate.
I gave up a thousand and one other things.

Hard, but ok. They're probably bad for me, and they're
stopping my weight loss.

Round Three:
I gave up fruits.

Tough, but Ah well. They're stopping my weight loss.

Round Four:
I gave up Ground Beef.

ARGH, hard. But it might be bad for me.

This is getting ridiculous. People are expressing concerns
about Steak, which I absolutely will not give up. Now it's
*broccoli* that's supposed to cause me to croak? Fucking hell!

I can't let this get to me, and I won't, but I just had to
vent a little bit. I've given up all I'm going to give up,
and I'll enjoy my broccoli unless Karl or someone comes
up with the studies that show *without a doubt* that
my health would be better if I stopped eating it.

What next, cauliflower?

Vickie (going to fix a broccoli/mushroom omelet for breakfast)
