Hi all,
This is just a quick email to say hi. I'm a PhD student in Zurich studying
climatology, but am originally from Australia. I moved here 7 months ago, so
you can imagine that my life has been pretty stressful (due to moving away
from friends, family and boyfriend; getting used to a new culture; becoming
financially independent; etc, etc). As such, I've noticed that my eating
habits are WAY bad now, whereas they used to be quite good. I found out about
the paleolithic diet on a newsgroup I'm on, and thought that it was similar
to what my diet _used_ to be like (you know, when I was healthy!). I find
that my current diet consists of a lot of sugars and refined carbs. I tend
to adore bread and pasta as well as sugar, but don't find it satisfying. In
fact, it seems to stimulate my appetite. On the other hand, I find salads,
meat dishes and fruit quite filling (although some fruit triggers my sugar
cravings).
At the moment, I really don't know much about this sort of diet. I've
checked out the paleodiet site (http://www.panix.com/~paleodiet/), but would
still like to know more. If anyone can give me more info (recipes, helpful
hints, etc) that would be great.
Cheers for now,
Rae
