HI Mary,
You dinners sounded wonderful..you certainly know how to pick the best
choice of restaurants!
I never hesitate to request GF when I go to a fine restaurant with
experienced chefs because I rather expect they would help to accommodate
my need (that's what they get paid for @ $100 and up, per person).
Besides people who can afford to make these places a "regular" dining
experience are usually very demanding and exacting in their lifestyles
and require special care becausse that is what they are used to and pay
for. So in a way, they make it easy for us too because now it is just
another challenge to the Chef.
Glad your experience was so good. I will try to save my pennies for
Lespinasse, as I live in NJ. However, my daughter lives near San
Francisco and a trip to Yontville is not out of the question. I will put
The French Laundry on my "Wish List" too. My table would certainly
offer them a real "challenge" we would have 1- celiac, 1-diabetic and
1- vegetarian.
Thanks for the suggestion
Betsey, NJ
