I am a celiac - diagnosed and treated for abut 5 years. My son has just been
diagnosed with renal failure and I am being considered as a transplant donor.
The antigen testing takes place next week. So far no one has questioned my
ability to be a donor although the transplant team knows of my condition. It
has not disqualifed me in the first round of blood workups. My son has no
symptoms of celiac disease - he is 30 years old. Does anyone know of a
situation like this and can any one think a reason not be a donor under these
circumstances.
