Who knows? You have to try it out and see. *If* your immune
system is reacting to dairy proteins, then even the small amount
in your coffee may have adverse effects. Nevertheless, I suggest
trying for the best level of compliance that you can at the
start, and then work on improving it, within your personal
tolerance limits.

What Ray says about cheating is that it is likely to cause
*cravings* that may last for up to a week. My opinion is that
this depends upon the particular food. If I eat some shredded
cheese in my salad, I don't notice any particular craving. On
the other hand, about a week ago I "binged" on salted peanuts
while traveling from Baltimore with my son. I didn't notice any
adverse health effects, but I sure went into binge mode.

Now that the hot weather is here, I don't even want to think
about the craving that I would have for a cold beer, if I were to
have one. I suppose the lesson is to know your trigger foods and
be especially vigilant about them.

As for dangers, I don't know of any. Over on the Zone list there
have been several assertions recently that dietary saturated fat
increases insulin resistance. Unfortunately, I don't know enough
to confirm or refute that claim.
