Excellent article and "no, it doesn't!" I received a note the other day about a note on
my house for a renovation that we just completed. It quoted my note, the balance, the
bank, etc., and said that they could probably give me a replacement at less interest.
Then I received a note that looked just like a manufacturer's recall notice that
insinuated that I must call their special number for more information about my newest
car. They told me that my warranty was about to expire and that they would extend it for
three more years for approximately $500 for an extended warranty. It was not from my
dealer whom I had thought had sent it. So, we are in for a lot more of this stuff and I
can just hear an attorney in a divorce action quoting the number of times a husband spent
viewing porno sites on the web, etc.
