I question this statement from a previous posting.  I am not a wine drinker;
therefore, I have done no research in this area.  However, I remember a scene
from a movie (about making wine called French Kiss Kevin Klein and Meg Ryan)
which dealt with how they add herbs, spices, minerals, and all sorts of
things to the wines to give them characteristic flavors--to make them taste
earthy, floral, etc.  (I realize it was just a movie, but I doubt they made
this up just for the heck of it.)  So, how do we know, without checking,
whether or not wheat, rye, barley, or oats or one of their derivatives are
not added to enhance the flavor of a wine?  I am aware that sulfites must be
listed as a separate ingredient by law, but I have been under the impression
that the term "wine" on an ingredient list is similar to vinegar.  They don't
have to tell you what's added to the wine other than the sulfites anymore
than they have to tell you what they are adding to the vinegar when they are
making it.  Perhaps a wine enthusiast could look into this possibility and
post a response back to the list.  I'm sure wine drinkers would greatly
appreciate it.

When in doubt, I still think we should call the manufacturer.
