(ignore the javascript alert). it looks like they have a vegan meal that is
totally non-dairy, but i wish that they had a non-dairy meal.
here is something that really annoys me, they have a non-lactose meal that
is meant for milk allergies too, but one of the allowed foods is non-dairy
creamer?!?! I think they need a little education. if anyone is a little
more eloquent than i, it would be great if someone would send them a letter
(hint hint- mark??)
Non-Lactose Meals
Non-lactose meals are available for customers who are diagnosed as lactose
intolerant or for those who have allergies to the proteins in milk. Lactose
intolerance is a condition where the body does not produce enough of the
enzyme lactate.
The lactose-free diet is designed to prevent or reduce bloating,
cramping, and
diarrhea associated with ingesting lactose-containing products. This diet
involves avoiding milk and dairy products such as butter, cheese,
cream, and
yogurt. Milk products like casein, whey, skimmed milk and non-fat milk
solids, curds, and sodium caseinates should also be avoided.
Lactose is often used as a filler in artificial sweeteners, cold cuts,
hot dogs,
stock cubes, dried soups, dry cereals, and processed foods. Labels on all
processed foods should be checked for the presence of milk and milk
derivatives. Lactate, lactalbumin, lactylate and calcium compounds, and
salts
of lactic acid do not contain lactose.
