Thank you to all you helpful celiacs who have responded to my inquiry on
September 2nd questioning the GF status of Advil and requesting that very
sensitive celiacs share their experiences.
The following list is a suggestion by several celiacs on GF pain meds.
Please check with your MD and the pharmaceutical company as to the GF
status of meds.
2- Nuprin
2- Extra Strength Excedrin( tablets and capsules)
1- Good Neighbor Acetaminophen
1- Walmart Ibuprophen
1- Walmart Naproxen
1- Walmart Acetaminophen
1- Hannaford Ibuprophen
1- Hannaford Aspirin
1- Aleve
2- Orudis KT
1- Freeda's Acetaminophen
3- Tylenol, 1- Tylenol children's chewables
Prescription Rx:
1- Percocet
1- Roxicet
1- Tordal
1- Relaphen
1- Vicodin
In Canada: Actiprofen(Sterling Health), Apo-Ibuprophen (Apotex),
Medipren (McNeil), Motrin (Upjohn), Novo-Profen( Novopharm).
Stokes Pharmacy, in New Jersey, Tel. #: (800) 754-5222, will compound
your non-prescription and most prescription meds for you.
One celiac uses a Homeopathic remedy: Migraine Headache Formula by Natra-
Bio.
I have read from previous posts that Tylenol may be unsafe for celiacs.
And last month when I called the manufactuter of Aleve, a
companyrepresentative stated that they could not guarantee the GF status os
Aleve.
As to Advil, when I called them 2x in the past month they were
inconsistent on guaranteeing their product GF.
I question why some big name pharmaceutical companies are inconsistent or
unclear with product information.
Even though it may be frustrating for us celiacs to question the GF
status of products we should still do so (because there are enough of us out
there and many more undiagnosed), but please remember to always be civil and
courteous so that they would want to do business with us in the future.
