An alternative to commercial vitamin E is the Aloe Vera plant. Just
take a piece of a leaf from a live plant (the cut end repairs itself
quite well) and apply the juice where you want the vitamin E. In
addition to being very high in Vitamin E it has other healing agents.
This is very effective for burns (I would not recommend it for 3rd
degree burns, however) also. (As always, the FIRST thing to do for a
burn is to get rid of residual heat (which can be responsible for more
than 50% of the damage) - by running cold water over the burn if
possible for 5 to 15 minutes depending on the extent and severity.)
The Aloe Vera has many antioxidants that greatly reduce free radical
damage (responsible for more than half of the damage from a burn).
It would proably be a good idea to test the Aloe Vera on a small spot of
unaffected skin first to see if you are allergic to IT (although I have
seen no mention of anyone being so).
One thing for SURE - you KNOW it hasn't got any gluten in it!
