Hi all,
As someone who has had to give up a lot of foods due to proteins causing severe
Rheumatoid flares, I was pleasantly surprised to "discover" hummus today at the local
Giant.
Not only am I unable to consume dairy products, but the list of "bad" foods includes all
meats, eggs, soy proteins and yeasts. I had tried the "brazil nut cheese" and
experienced a flare from the yeast it contains.
So....I was very happy to read the label for the hummus and find that it contains no
yeast. The main ingredients are chickpeas, tahini, water, olive oil, garlic and lemon
juice. It has that smooth creamy feel that I miss. (I used to eat an excessive amount
of cheddar cheese) Hopefully, I can enjoy the hummus without paying a price in pain the
next day.
Pamela
