Kathy, we just use plain rice cakes and then add stuff ourself.  Ie, nut
butter or I make something I call carob spread for an occasional treat
(blended banana with carob and nut butter).  As far as I know, plain rice
cakes are safe.

P.S.  We homeschool too, but are not unschoolers.  Next year, we will be
doing unit studies which are admittedly closer to unschooling that
traditional curriculum.
