I am interested in hearing from those of you out there who have described or
would describe yourselves as some of the few celiacs who were overweight.
Does any of this sound familiar?

My daughter (age 4) has many of the symptoms of celiac but she is decidely not
underweight and this is making her doctors reluctant to pursue this,
although they acknowledge that she has many other symptoms. We have observed
that she seems to crave gluten-containing products (we are currently in a
gluten challenge on doctors orders) and I think she may have been overeating
because of these cravings. Her babysitter noted spontaneously that she could
not believe how much more my daughter was eating, despite the discomfort that
followed, when she went back to an unrestricted diet. She described it as
"compulsive and out-of-control."

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Cailie
