I have been on the GF diet for about 6 months now, feeling great, so this
week I decided to try a food that bothered me last fall "soda"( we call it
pop in Minn). I still get the same symptoms, lots of gas and stomach
discomfort. When I asked my GI specialist about soda last fall he said that
corn syrup is hard to digest. Does any one else have this problem? I have
no problem with sparkling water or fruit juices.

Also, are there any good texts that explain how food is digested. If I
remember correctly I think my GI specialist stated that most of the
digestion of corn syrup occurs in the large intestine, a problem area for CD.

Thanks
