My 3 1/2 yr old son is a biopsy confirmed celiac. At the suggestion of
our GI doctor, the remaining family members had the antibody testing
done. My 6 year old son's bloodwork indicated that all the antibody
levels were within normal range except for the gliadin IgG level --
last June it was >104. It was suggested that we repeat the tests in
6 months. We just did that and again, all levels were within normal
except for the gliadin IgG -- this time it was 45.(Overall IgA deficiency
was also checked.) Anyway, the GI doctor would like to do a biopsy
to determine if he also has celiac. He has none of the other symptons
and from what I have read the IgG level is the least indicative marker of
celiac. I am unsure as to whether or not to have this done.
Any advice? Thanks in advance.
